any victor stream users here

Category: Let's talk

Hi Everyone,
I'm a new guy here and there is plenty that I don't know, so I'm hoping that you'll be nice and let me know where I'm supposed to post certain things. I didn't read all the topics, but I'm a Victor user and really love being able to download books that I specifically like and want to my sd cards.
I'm really unhappy with our library service here and wish I were back in Missouri again. Incidentally, do we have any of you from MO, and what are some of your thoughts on the state and services?
Oh, can you change the subject name when you write another message on this topic as you can over on the system Access boards?
Oh yes, that's another thing, I'm an sA user, and have been so for over a year I believe.

I like baseball, and phone chat lines as well. are any of them discussed anywhere here?
thanks,
Bill K.

Hello. Unfortunately the way you get your books on a victor is tedius in general. I think it is stupid how they designed it, but that's the only way to do it. Let me know if there is a specific way I can help and I'll try.

To answer another of your questions, no you cannot change the subject line. The original poster decides what to put in the subject line, so if you want to change the subject start one of your own or find a subject that matches what you want to talk about.

There are dozens of categories here on this board system for discussing almost anything, so just enter on the combo box and arrow down through the category choices. There are categories for discussing cell phones, adaptive equipment, dating, books, music, movies and TV shows, things to sell and buy, and many more. Just explore.

Hi to Billy,
i don't know if I'd say that the way the victor file structure was made is stupid, I personally like the VR designations at the beginnings of the folders and that doesn't bother me at all, and the fact that you keep each book in its own folder is the way it's done for the nls player too, so that works for me just fine.

I also love my victor reader stream.

Hi Anthony,
Perhaps you could just maybe suggest some lively places on the board where I might could do some reading and posting?
thanks,
Bill K.

I love my Stream as well. And despite having an IPod Touch I still use it since at least for now there's no app that plays Bard books.

Hi and welcome to the Zone. I also like reading and sometimes posting to the discussion boards here.
For the questions on interesting places here to read and post, on the home page of this site, there is a link called "The Boards", and after you click/enter on that, there will be a list of discussion boards with a short discription of each category. There is also a combo box with the same list, plus several other ways to sort out what Boards you want to read. One Board you might like though might be the "Accessible Electronics" one. But to get an idea of what is on each board, you can click/enter on each one and look thru them like that. Hope that helps. *smile*

Hi to Twinkle star,
thanks for all the help, and I'll have to try that and see just what good stuff I can find.

as for the other guy, I know that you'll someday soon be able to listen to bard books on your IPad touch, and it will be interesting to see what you do with your victor.

Speaking of the Victor, do we have anyone reading here who has seen the newer covers for the stream? I don't know about you all, but I'll take the older Victor covers if you don't mind. the one I had because I accidentally burned up my old Victor was really good, but when I got my newer machine around March I think I noticed that the new cover didn't have a hole that I could find for the earphone, so I just won't be keeping that one at all.

That will be awesome if we will adventually be able to listen to BARD books on the iPad and or iPod Touch.

I have a victor reader stream too.

I use the Stream for recording these days. I was a voice actor in the Airik the Cleric game and I recorded my lines using the Stream because my computer's microphone died shortly before the recording began.

I use my Victor reader Stream for listening to books from BARD. I've tried recording with it, but I don't like the internal microphone.
